Message from the Director of Sports

Gone are the days when people had this mindset,”All play and no work makes Jack a dull boy. “Today sports has acquired as much importance as academics and today we need to have youth who is not only scholarly but also physically capable and enduring.Once a child has both physical and mental power, no one can stop him to savour success no matter how harsh the realities of life may be. 

At the same time we know that stars are born but champions are made and we try to build champions by giving them ample chances to shine through various games like karate, takwondo, shooting, gymnastics, volleyball, football, skating, swimming, lawn tennis, cricket gym etc at all levels be it district, state or national.
This vision of mine of creating sporting culture in the schools could become a reality because of the persistent encouragement and interest shown by management and I express my heartfelt gratitude to them for their support and co- operation.
In the end, to all those who have misconceptions about sports, I would reiterate the fact that all essential values like discipline, perseverance, tolerance,obedience,sportsmanship, team work, co-operation etc. learnt on play field can help children stand in good stead when they enter the actual battle of life and remember even the battle of Waterloo was won on the play fields of Eton.
I conclude with a hope that the spark of games and sports ignited in the hearts of students will be further fanned by all concerned and we will produce sportsmen of caliber and courage in the days to come.
